www.localugo.com

This is the first blog for localugo.com so I figured that I should start from the beginning so you can understand our passion behind this project.

I remember the exact moment- We were talking on the phone about how we could not find out where a charity event was being held- it was a High Heel Hike for cancer- We had heard about it on the radio but couldn't seem to find it on the Internet. The light bulb came on so bright it was blinding! We needed to build a site where you would have access to all the events in your area without having to piece together newspapers, magazines, and individual business sites. If we were able to do this it would allow everybody easy access to a plethora of events in their community. In time, this would mean more community involvement. People wouldn't miss out on events because there would be ONE place to find everything- spending less hours looking for events and more hours at the events experiencing life!

So there we had it- We wanted a nationwide database of events that people could access for FREE! We wanted to help local businesses and events be heard, so we created a way for them to post their events for FREE! It would be a win win situation!

We thought long and hard about the name of our project- so we went our separate ways to brainstorm. When we met up to discuss the name possibilities we both had the same name at the top of our list- so right then and there we decided that it was meant to be....localugo.com was born!

We did a lot of research and worked around the clock so that we could soft launch are new baby during the Christmas season. We made our debut at the Art in the Park Event in Saint Petersburg, Florida, an event which we helped create and participated in as founding members of the St. Pete Art Beat.

The event was a great success and will come back later this year (and hopefully for years to come). We had a great soft launch and we were able to work out all of the sites kinks.

http://www.localugo.com/ is only a couple of months old and already creating a ton of buzz! We are really excited to see our baby grow so keep checking back and I will post any news and crazy things that come our way.
